WILLIE MAYS’ BIG LEAGUE DEBUT WAS LESS THAN STELLAR

On May 25th, 1951: Willie Mays appeared in his 1st major league game. His debut didn’t exactly foreshadow his talent. He went 0 for 5 in that game.

BORN ON THIS DAY: ROBERT LUDLUM

On May 25th, 1927: Spy novelist Robert Ludlum was born in New York City. Ludlum is the author of the Bourne Trilogy. Matt Damon starred in the film adaptations of the books. Even though the movies strayed from the source material significantly, the movies were both a critical and financial success. Unfortunately, Ludlum died before the books were adapted.
