CHOO CHOO TRAINS IN MIDTOWN

On November 27, 1910: Pennsylvania Station opened.  Construction of the station and its associated tunnels cost $114 million (approximately $2.7 billion in 2011 dollars). Oh, Penn Station, you were a beaut before your 1963 renovation.

PARADING AROUND MACY’S

On November 27, 1924: The first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was held. Employees of the department store and professional entertainers marched from 145th Street in Harlem to the flagship location on 34th Street dressed in costumes.
