A KING IS BORN

On October 20, 1958: Viggo Mortensen was born in New York City. Best known for his iconic role as Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Mortensen has also had accoladed roles in films such as Hidalgo, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, and The Two Faces of January. 

 

ASAP FERG

On October 20, 1988: Rapper ASAP Ferg was born in Harlem. A member of the ASAP Mob music collective alongside A$AP Rocky, ASAP Ferg made a name for himself with 2013’s Trap Lord. The first single from the album, “Work,” was named one of 2012’s 50 best songs by Complex Magazine.

LIFE ON STAGE

On October 20, 1977: David Mamet’s A Life in the Theatre, starring Ellis Raab and Gerald Gutierrez, premiered at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in New York City. The play saw multiple revivals and was adapted into a television movie.
