ROCKY HORROR SHOW
On March 10, 1975: The Broadway musical The Rocky Horror Show opened at the Belasco Theater for 45 performances. It was produced and directed by Patrick Sharman, with music, lyrics, and book by Richard O’Brien. The Broadway debut received one Tony nomination and three Drama Desk nominations.
FIRST OPERA TELEVISED
On March 10, 1940: The first opera was telecasted from the Metropolitan Opera. The television network, W2XBS (now WNBC) broadcasted a scene from the Italian opera Pagliacci, and the audio portion was carried to radio station WJZ.
