THE BIGGEST UPSET FOR NON-NEW YORKERS

On January 20, 2008: The New York Giants won the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers by a score of 23-20. This victory led them to Super Bowl XLII against the New England Patriots, and later, Super Bowl Champions for the 2007 season.

FDR MAKES HISTORY

On January 20 1945: Franklin Delano Roosevelt, then governor of New York and the 32nd president of the United States, was inaugurated to his fourth term. About a decade later, a freeway on the east side of New York City was named after Roosevelt, known today as FDR drive.

A BADA$$ IS BORN

On January 20, 1995: Rapper Joey Bada$$ was born in Brooklyn. Since he dropped his first (and best known) single “Survival Tactics” in 2012, he has released two albums and is set to release his third early 2015.
