SHE’S MARRYING MATT DAMON

On December 9, 2005: Actor Matt Damon married Luciana Bozán Barroso in a private civil ceremony at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau near New York City Hall. The two met in Miami, where Damon was working on a film and Barroso worked as a bartender.

HOT OFF THE PRESS

On December 9, 1793: Noah Webster established New York City’s first daily paper, the American Minerva. He edited the paper for four years. Webster has been called the “Father of American Scholarship and Education,” and is considered one of the founding fathers of America.

 JAKOB DYLAN

On December 9, 1969: Singer, songwriter, and son of Bob Dylan, Jakob Dylan was born in New York City. Dylan is the lead singer of the rock band, The Wallflowers. The group, signed to Interscope Records, has toured nation-wide, and Dylan has since successfully released numerous solo projects.
