On June 21, 1921: Actress Judy Holliday was born. After a stellar performance as Billie Dawn in the 1946 production of Born Yesterday, Holliday’s big break came when she was casted in the 1950 film adaptation of the Broadway musical, which won her a Golden Globe. A highly decorated performer, Holliday ended her career with three Golden Globes, two Tonys, an Oscar, and countless nominations.

On June 21, 1977: Defending the Caveman closed at the Helen Hayes Theatre after 671 performances. The comedy play written by actor and comedian Rob Becker has been seen in over forty countries and by over eight million people around the globe. When it ran in 1996, it became the longest running one-man play in the history of Broadway, a record it held for eleven years.
