WHEN JOHN LENNON COULD BE HEARD ON THE AIR

On September 28, 1974: John Lennon appeared as a guest DJ on New York’s WNEW radio station. After reading aloud the weather report, Lennon brought along records that he played over the air, many of which were obscure rock & roll records.

On September 28, 1975: American runner Tom Fleming earned the gold medal in the 6th New York City Marathon with the time 2:19:27. He was also a two-time runner up in the Boston Marathon.

On September 28, 1967: Moon Zappa was born in New York City. The actress has appeared in National Lampoon’s European Vacation, Spirit of  ’76, and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.
