On February 15, 1955: Model Janice Dickinson was born in Brooklyn. She is known as the first supermodel and gained famed in the 1970s and 1980s. In 2003, she expanded her profession to reality TV on America’s Next Top Model and opened her own modeling agency in 2005.

On February 15, 1926: The Brooks Atkinson Theater opened as the Mansfield Theater at 256 W. 47th Street by the Chanin brothers. Designed by Herbert J. Krapp, in 1960, the theater was renamed after the former New York Times theater critic, Brooks Atkinson.

On February 15, 1916: The Yankees bought Frank “Home Run” Baker from the Athletics for $37,000. The manager of the Athletics, Connie Mack, felt pressured by the American League president, Ban Johnson and sold Baker’s contract to the Yankees. Together, teammate Wally Pipp and Baker led the league and team in home runs.
