ELVIS IS IN THE BUILDING

On January 31, 1978: Broadway musical, Elvis: The Legend Lives! opened at the Palace Theater for 101 performances. The musical ran for only three months, and celebrated the life and music of Elvis’ greatest hits.

GREEN AND NEWMAN WED

On January 31, 1960: Songwriter Adolph Green married actress and singer Phyllis Newman in New York City. This was Green’s third marriage and years later, they had two kids. They wed for forty-two years until his death in 2002 at age 87.
