On June 10, 1959: Former New York  Governor Elliot Spitzer was born in Riverdale. In 1992, while serving at the New York County District Attorney’s office, he notably brought down the Gambino family’s control over New York’s trucking and garment industries.

ELVIS PRESLEY AT THE GARDEN

On June 10th, 1972: Elvis Presley recorded a live album at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The concert and recording were promoted as being Presley’s first live concert in New York since the 1950s. It was certified Gold on 8/4/1972, Platinum on 5/20/1988, 2x Platinum on 3/27/1992 and 3x Platinum on 7/15/1999 by the RIAA.

LEELEE SOBIESKI

On June 10, 1992: Actress Leelee Sobieski was born in New York City. Sobieski achieved nation recognition for her role in the film Deep Impact. Sobieski went on to appear in numerous films, including Never Been KissedEyes Wide ShutHere on EarthThe Glass HouseJoy Ride and the Emmy nominated Joan of Arc.
