RIP BIGGIE

On March 9, 1997: Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G or Biggie or Biggie Smalls, was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in LA.

BORN ON THIS DAY: JOE FRANKLIN

On March 9, 1926: Prolific radio and television personality, Joe Franklin was born in the Bronx. Franklin is the father of television talk shows, hosting the first ever televised talk show, The Joe Franklin Show which had an awe inspiring 42 year run.
