JOAN GOT MARRIED

On October 11, 2009: Mad Men star Christina Hendricks married fellow actor Geoffrey Arend at Il Buco restaurant in Manhattan. Hendricks, a native of Tennessee, is best known for her role as Joan Harris in the iconic NYC-centered television series Mad Men. Geoffrey Arend, a New York Native, is known for his work in the 2009 film (500) Days of Sunmmer.

ELEANOR ROOSEVELT

On October 11, 1884: Eleanor Roosevelt was born in New York City. Dubbed “First Lady of the World” by Harry Truman, Rooselvelt was not only known for her role as First Lady, but rather known for her extensive work as a civil rights activist and for her human rights work across the country.
