Where is he from? Manhattan

What’s he done? Starting as a correspondent for ABC News, Anderson eventually became an anchor for their World News Now program. He ultimately ended up moving to CNN becoming their weekend prime-time anchor as well as hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve special in Times Square. In 2003 he got his own program, Anderson Cooper 360 degrees. He became the face of new journalism following Hurricane Katrina, lauded for his passionate coverage of the aftermath of the disaster.

Why is he an icon? A member of the famous Vanderbilt family, Anderson not only grew up as a prominent member of New York, but, became a celebrity in his own right through his reporting.
