We’re listening to…

Nick Jonas (Deluxe Edition) by Nick Jonas

In case you haven’t been watching Kingdom, Nick Jonas is all grown up (and having shirtless crotch-grab photoshoots, a la Mark Wahlberg). His second, self-titled studio album shows he’s come a long way since recording the Jonas Brothers “Year 3000″ cover, and certainly has a more mature, ‘Justin-Timberlake-meets-Robin-Thicke-by-way-of-OneRepublic’ sound (complete with an edgy “Parental Advisory” warning label). Preceded by several well received singles including “Jealous” and “Chains,” Nick Jonas is one of the top performing albums on iTunes.

We’re watching…

Rosewater

The Daily Show‘s John Stewart makes his directorial debut with Rosewater, a gripping drama based on the true life imprisonment of journalist Maziar Bahari in Iran. An official Toronto Film Festival selection, Rosewater serves as a compelling and relevant testament to the realities and struggles faced in the Middle East, and is an impressive first effort from Stewart.

We’re using…

PINCHme

The idea behind PINCHme is simple: free stuff. Users receive curated selections of samples to try at home, and then provide feedback, and have the opportunity to buy any of the items they like directly from the PINCHme platform. The best part? The more involved a user gets, the better their experience, thanks to exclusive samples, and special offers. Because really — who doesn’t love free stuff?

We’re eating…

Bronx Alehouse

Bronx Alehouse is redefining what it means to offer beers on tap. Gone are the days of wondering if your local craft beer bar is out of your favorite lager or IPA. The Bronx Alehouse website features a real-time tap list, showing what’s on tap, how much is left, and how much it’ll cost you. A great place to kick back and relax with some friends, it doesn’t need to be Bronxtoberfest to stop by and enjoy their great selection.

Staff Pick: I’m watching…

Modern Comedian

Far from your standard Q&A, Modern Comedian is an intimate and brutally candid deep dive into the personal lives of stand-up comics, both established and up-and-coming. My favorite installment of the PBS Digital Studios web series profiles New York native Yannis Pappas, who tells the harrowing story of getting held up at gunpoint and shot after a show. Maria Bamford, Jim Gaffigan, and Lynn Shawcroft (widow to the late, great Mitch Hedberg) are other must-see episodes.
