The Fault in Our Stars

The highly anticipated film adaptation of John Green’s critically acclaimed novel, The Fault in Our Stars (starring Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Nat Wolff) looks to be receiving the same favorable reception. The Fault in Our Stars chronicles the the unconventional romance of Hazel, a cancer patient, and Augustus, after the two meet through a support group. The lead single from the film’s soundtrack, “Boom Clap” by Charlie XCX (fresh off her popular feature on “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea) is also seeing success, currently ranked 21st on iTunes Top Songs.

Orange is the New Black, Season 2

Finally! The wait is over! Piper, Alex, Red, Crazy Eyes, and the rest are back, and frankly, we couldn’t be happier about it. Orange is the New Black, the popular Netflix original series, is back for a second season, released Friday, and like many of you, will be spending the coming days binge watching on our laptops. With nearly a year to agonize over last season’s bombshell cliffhanger ending, it’s no surprise that OITNB even bested other Netflix powerhouses House of Cards and Arrested Development in viewership.

We’re listening to…

“Delirious (Boneless)” by Steve Aoki, Chris Lake, Tujamo ft. Kid Ink

Go ahead and add this one to your “Summer” playlist (and probaly your “Gym” and “Running” playlists, too, while you’re at it). “Delirious” is definitely a party song, and will probably be on heavy repeat in clubs and party scenes. Courtesy of Grammy nominated Steve Aoki, this EDM track practically screams laser lights, smoke machines, and overpriced cocktails. Turn it up and enjoy.

If share plates, hand crafted cocktails, and having a meal where you don’t feel like you’re sitting in the lap of the people dining next to you sounds good, then Bea in Hell’s Kitchen is the place for you. Comfortable, relaxed, but still serving up a quality dining experience, Bea offers a certain charm that isn’t overly common in the New York City hustle and bustle. Start out at the bar with a “Lavender Monk,” and be sure to try as many items off the dinner menu as possible, especially the kale caesar, the pork dumplings, the tuna tar guac, and the spicy lamb meatballs…and we want fault you for finishing things off with the pear n’ice cream for dessert.
