We’re buying…

Bees Knees Spicy Honey

Bees Knees Spicy Honey, locally produced by Brooklyn-based startup Mixed Made, is a sweet and spicy treat with a little kick. It’s billed as “Good on Everything,” and frankly, we’ve been putting it to the test (and we have the nearly empty bottle to prove it). Pizza, cheese, donuts, apples, tea — you name it. We haven’t encountered a more delicious, unexpected combination since the Cronut. Apply liberally and enjoy.

We’re listening to…

1989 by Taylor Swift

Like it or not, Taylor Swift has done it again. 1989 is currently the top downloaded album on iTunes, and tracks “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space” are the 2nd and 3rd most popular downloaded singles, respectively. The reining princess of pop has produced another undeniably successful album — one with a more mature take on the “angsty-heartbroken-jilted-lover-break-ups-and-relationships-are-hard-you-guys” fluff that was so prominent in her earlier work. Naturally, we’re partial to “Welcome To New York,” as well as the refreshingly different “Out of the Woods.”

We’re eating…

Lucy’s Cantina Royale

Sitting right in the middle of the 8th Avenue & 34th Street hustle and bustle, Lucy’s Cantina Royale is a surprising respite amidst the Garment District chaos. While perhaps not quite gourmet, Lucy’s offers drink specials and quick, tasty TexMex — especially the guacamole, which is way better than you’d expect from any place that’s across the street from a T.G.I Fridays…particularly when you realize that the next closest Mexican restaurant is a Taco Bell.

We’re watching…

Jake Gyllenhaal stars along side Rene Russo and Bill Paxton in this crime thriller about the dark, seedy underbelly of freelance crime journalism in Los Angeles. Nightcrawler is a hit with critics and audiences, most especially the performance turned in by Gyllenhaal. This gritty thrill ride is not one to miss. Buckle up.
