NO MORE BLONDES ON BROADWAY

On September 15, 1951: Gentleman Prefer Blondes closed at the Ziegfeld Theater after 740 performances. Below Marilyn Monroe performs the classic song “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” in the 1953 film adaptation.

POSTHUMOUS ELECTION

On September 15, 1992: Ted Weiss posthumously won the primary for re-election to the House of Representatives. Jerry Nadler replaced Weiss’ name on the ballot and won the election.
