On September 30, 1964: Oh! What a Lovely War opened on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre. The musical, developed by Joan Littlewood, was made into a film in 1969.

BORN ON THIS DAY: FRAN DRESCHER

On September 30, 1957: Fran Drescher was born in Queens. You may know her as The Nanny, but her big break was in Saturday Night Fever when she asked John Travolta, “So, are you as good in bed as you are on the dance floor?” The actress is also a health care advocate and a LGBT rights activist.
